Chef de Cuisine ~ Alain Levesque
Originally from Quebec City, Alain came to Ontario after completing his training in French Cuisine at Wilbrod Bherer. He spent a number of years working at such prestigious Toronto restaurants as Auberge Gavroche, Le Rendez-vous, Anthony's, and Saffers, before opening his own retail and catering business.
Always interested in the origins of the products he uses, Alain was inspired to move to the country, which opened the door to regional cuisine. In 1995, Alain, with his wife and business partner, Patricia Keyes, opened the original La Cachette in Elora, Ontario. Their relationship with regional products and Ontario wines matured with the restaurant.
The move to the Niagara region in 2000 was an exciting event for the couple, who considered the area to be the epicenter of the Canadian culinary scene. Making full use of the abundant products available locally, Alain's seasonal menus showcase the very best of the region, presented in the light, healthy style of Provence.
